MISSION FOR VISION

Red Eyewear has made a large donation of Prescription Sunglasses and Optical Glasses to Mission For Vision to distribute globally. Additionally, Red Eyewear has donated many other Sunglasses for men, ladies, and kids.

Millions of people around the world need glasses just to live a normal life, but do not have the facilities or the means to acquire them.

Mission For Vision is committed to providing vision to those living in the deprived areas of the developing world. The charity comprises optometrists and dispensing opticians willing to volunteer their skills, time and money to improve the quality of life for others.

Without access to glasses, people with poor vision from rural communities are limited in their ability to work and be educated, preventing them from overcoming poverty. Not only do Mission For Vision provide glasses to these communities, they also set up mobile clinics and permanent centres that provide training in basic primary eye care services to enable these communities to provide for themselves.

re-FISH

Red Eyewear has made a significant donation of polarised metal sunglasses to re-FISH.

Polarised lenses significantly reduce reflected glare from the sun off water and similar surfaces. Studies are showing that increasingly young fisherman, not only in Bangladesh Fishing communities but around the world are developing eyesight problems and as a result have early signs of pterygium, a benign growth in the eye that obstructs vision due to the lack of adequate eye protection.

re-FISH is a project to promote safety in the fishing industry in Bangladesh. re-FISH focuses on re-cycling, re-purposing and re-using Safety, Vessel and Fishing Equipment and giving it to those that need it most.

By re-furbishing donated gear, the plan helps to create local jobs, benefit local economies and provide ownership of the donated equipment. Beyond the immediate environmental benefits – ensuring that unused gear doesn’t end up in the landfill or worse, the sea – there are added benefits to the Bangladeshi fishing community in terms of improving safety outcomes, empowering communities and helping to alleviate poverty.
